A CASED PAIR OF 60-BORE PERCUSSION DELUXE POCKET-PISTOLS WITH IVORY BUTTS, UNSIGNED, no visible serial numbers,
Belgian circa 1835, with brushed bright etched damascus turn-off 1 1/2in. barrels, muzzles notched for key, Liege proofs at breech, borderline and American scroll engraved squared boxlock actions with offset engraved dolphin-headed central hammers, concealed automatic triggers, smooth ivory bag-shaped butts (some age related blind hairline cracks) and complete in their leather bound 'book' casing, the cover embossed with partially gilded borders, the 'spine' marked 'VOLTAIRE', marbled paper sides in imitation of pages, the inside lined in green velvet in the continental manner and including compartments for the two pistols, a bullet mould barrel key combination tool and a compartment for caps (lid absent), snap closure (hinge fragile)
